Termo CULTURA

A noção mais antiga sobre o termo CULTURA é aquela que opõe os objetos culturais aos objetos naturais. Essa idéia deriva da evolução remota da filosofia na Grécia antiga, do momento em que Sócrates, ou Platão pela boca de Sócrates, abandona a tradição dos filósofos da natureza de se preocuparem exclusivamente com a explicação do mundo físico e passa a polemizar com os sofistas sobre o homem e a sociedade.

The older notion of the term culture is one that opposes the cultural objects of natural objects. A teoria de Danto

A teoria de Danto interpreta as transformações ocorridas na arte a partir da década de 60, mais especificamente com o surgimento da arte pop. Segundo Danto, o modo de produção da arte pop, preconizado por Duchamp, consiste na transfiguração do banal: objetos comuns apresentados como arte. Esse tipo de procedimento, generalizado na contemporaneidade, tornou ainda mais tênues os limites entre arte e vida - que já tinham sido colocados em questão pela arte moderna - pois esses objetos banais transfigurados em arte são visualmente iguais aos objetos que permanecem como não-arte (a lata de sopa da galeria é a mesma do supermercado). A questão que se põe é: se os objetos são iguais, por que um é arte e o outro não? Para responder a essa pergunta, Danto (re)elabora noções como mundo da arte, percepção/interpretação, experiência estética e fim da arte. A polêmica idéia de um fim da arte não significa a morte da arte, mas sim o fim das restrições históricas à criação artística e mais especificamente o fim de uma era da arte: a era da estética. SERÁ?
